Prayer and Petitions
"Yet give attention to your servant's prayer and his plea for mercy, O LORD my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence." 2 Chronicles 6:19
The backbone of any ministry is prayer. For Christians, it should come as natural to us as breathing. And, ministry isn't just what missionaries do on some foreign field after receiving "the call" from the Lord. Every Christian is given a ministry and it is simply seeking what the Lord would have you do with whatever talents and resources He has blessed you with in whatever place He has put you to serve Him.
True prayer can only be accomplished when our hearts are pure...seeking God's will, and doing so in the name of Jesus. The only reason God hears our prayers is because Jesus is the mediator between God and sinful humanity. If you have placed your trust in Jesus, you can boldly walk into the presence of God and talk with him as your Father and friend. And the "conversation" of prayer is simply your heart's sincere desire, whether expressed or unspoken. So even if you don't say a word, God will hear your prayer. And he will answer you.
Some prayer requests for you, our dear prayer warriors:
- Pray that God would call out construction teams to come and help us finish the team house/conference facility. Team season 2010 has begun and as of yet we have no construction teams scheduled
- Pray for the jail ministry, that inmates would give their lives to Jesus
- Pray for the clinic ministry, that patients would be receptive to the Gospel
- Pray for our upcoming 2010 Fall Furlough. We have begun contacting churches to schedule speaking dates to present our mission program. Please pray that God would give us the opportunity to include new churches this year in our itinerary.
- Pray that God would burden hearts to do evangelism through Campo Yazu Ministries. We are praying for a mighty move of the Holy Spirit in La Mosquitia, the district that we live in
